INDUSTRY NEWS: Hain Celestial's Green Olympic Spirit

Hain Celestial, Canada's first-ever exclusive Official Supplier of Natural and Prganic Packaged Grocery Products for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, has asked Canadians across the country if they are green on the inside. After surveying members of the Company's Yves Veggie Cuisine Good Food Club, most respondents said that they felt it was important to be green both on the inside and out. The company took that message on the road over the summer, holding events across the country to encourage people to be green. In time for the Olympics, there are trolleys driving around the greater Vancouver area to support the Green on the Inside message and celebrate healthy living during the 2010 Winter Games.

Canadian Olympic Athlete Kristina Groves sets Green Spirit in Motion!

DELTA, BC, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - Are you green on the inside? That's what Hain Celestial(TM) asked Canadians across the country. As Canada's first-ever exclusive Official Supplier of Natural and Organic Packaged Grocery Products for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the company launched a national program over the summer challenging all Canadians to show their green spirit, get green on the inside and be a part of the 2010 Winter Games celebration.

"A recent survey we conducted of 3,000 members of our Yves Veggie Cuisine(R) Good Food Club found that 89 per cent felt that it is just as important to be green on the inside as it was to be green on the outside," said Beena Goldenberg, President, Hain Celestial Canada. "We wanted to find a way to challenge all Canadians as we rally around our Canadian Olympic athletes and encourage them to compete in the true athletic tradition of cleanly, naturally, organically, purely, and nobly. It's a great time for us all to take stock of our own goals, embrace A Healthy Way of Life(TM) and go for the green!"

Hain Celestial took the Are You Green on the Inside? message on the road this summer and invited Canadians to join in the celebration at major events right across Canada. Canadians who had their picture taken became one of thousands used to create a massive collage of Canadian fans celebrating the healthy way of life during the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. Four green trolleys are now driving around downtown and throughout the greater Vancouver area supporting the Green on the Inside message and encouraging Canadians to live more green.

"I think it's a great opportunity for Canadians to get involved in the Olympic Spirit that is sweeping the nation" said two-time Olympic silver medalist and speed skater Kristina Groves. "In particular I think the Hain Celestial campaign gives Canadians a chance to be a part of the shift in consciousness towards healthier eating and an increased concern for the environment that is also taking hold across the country. The Olympic Games don't come to Canada very often and for many this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, as a Canadian, to be a part of the whole Olympic experience. It's a fun way to have a personal connection with an athlete, a sport and the Olympic Games. That feeling of support is so valuable to any athlete and enhances the experience for them too."
